Frequently asked questions
Electric bikes work in exactly the same way as normal bikes. However, if you want some extra assistance, you can use the electrical motor built to help push you along. You can choose how much assistance you want depending on how much help you want. If you don’t want any assistance, you can ride the bike as you would a conventional pedal cycle. If you want lots of assistance, you can get the motor to provide this. Of course, you can set the assistance level to anywhere in between as well.Using the motor to assist you is a bit like having the wind behind you, helping push you along and making your cycling experience a absolute joy. Hills are no longer a problem as the motor can be used to power you up, at the end of the day nobody gets off an electric bike without a smile on their face – they are fun to ride.
We will need to see photographic ID, such as a passport or driving licence, we also require a councill tax bill and you will also be required to sign a hire agreement.
We will also either pre-authorise your credit or debit card for £250 to cover the cost of the bike against theft or damage. If you’d prefer, you can leave a cash deposit for £250.
All our bikes have tubeless tires so it's pretty rare to get a flat tire when you have a tubeless setup. The sealant inside your tires will quickly seal small holes and cuts to keep you rolling on the road or trail. However, flats are always possible – even with tubeless.
Unfortunately punctures do happen from time to time. If you get a puncture, you’ll have to walk the bike back to our premises. We will repair the puncture for free of charge. However, if you have continued to ride on a flat tyre and have damaged the wheel itself, you may have to pay for a wheel repair or a new wheel.
The chances of the bike breaking whilst you have it on hire is very low. However, there is of course a chance that this could happen. If this does happen, please return it to us or contact us via mobile and we will repair or exchange the bike for you for free of charge, unless the bike has broken due to reckless use.
